How many people can we bring on the trip?

Our boats have a max of 16 Passengers plus the captain and crew.The capacities are a US Coast Guard regulation and include all living people including children of all ages. If you have more than 16 people you can rent two boats and then we can cruise together for a total of 32 people. The two boats can tie up together if we stop to anchor out or if we stop at a waterfront restaurant.

Are your trips private or do you mix groups?

All of our trips are private. It doesn’t matter if you have 6 or 16 guests, we will never mix your trip with other people or groups.

 

Are the Tiki Boats Coast Guard Certified?

Yes. Our boats are USCG Inspected vessels and can carry 16 passengers plus a captain and a mate.

All of our captains carry a USCG Master License. All members of our team are Red Cross certified for first aid and CPR.

We are also experts in having a good time!

 

Can we go swimming?

No, we do not allow any passengers to go into the water from the boats.

How much does it cost?

We have a few different packages available based on tour duration and destination. Each tour also has additional options such as food and drink add-ons and our shop has a an awesome selection of unique clothing options.

We also have a few special tours available for special events such as July 4th Fireworks and Night in Venice.

 

Where do I get on the boat?

Our Tikis are docked at the Somers Point Town Marina at 198 Higbee Ave, Somers Point NJ.   Our boutique and tikis are located on the left hand side of the beach area on the marina docks. There is plenty of free parking available onsite.

What time should I arrive?

You should arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.  You will need time to load your belongings and beverages onto to the boats as well as fill out some paperwork and get our safety orientation from our captain. If you are late in arriving, it will cut into the length of your cruise.  We always return to the dock at the scheduled time so that the next trip is not delayed.

How do I book a cruise?

All of our scheduling is done online. Simply click on the “Book Now’ button on the top of our website to take you to our booking pages. From there you can choose the type of trip on the day and time of your choice.

 

How long is the trip?

Each trip is two hours. We do have a few trips that are longer such Night in Venice and Fireworks cruises. If there is not a scheduled trip after yours you can talk to our staff about extending your trip for an additional fee

Are children allowed?

Yes, we love well behaved kids!  Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. By NJ law, children 12 and under will be required to wear a life vest at all times and we ask that they are able to swim.  You can bring your own USCG approved life jacket or use one of ours. Children who misbehave will be given to the pirate boat as crew.

Can we bring our own food and drink?

Yes. You may bring your own drinks, food, snacks, and alcoholic beverages. Please have a valid ID if you intend to consume alcoholic beverages while on board. We have a cooler on board available for passenger use. Ice will be provided as well. Personal coolers are welcome if you prefer to bring your own.

Anyone consuming alcoholic beverages MUST be 21 or older with a valid ID.  Alcoholic beverages may not be opened or consumed until the boat has left the dock. You cannot drink at dock, on the piers or on your way to and from your car.

Do you provide food or drinks?

We can arrange catered snacks and meals (but not alcoholic beverages) as part of your tour at an additional cost. Check out the food options in our booking section.

What should I wear?

Like every good Tiki Bar, there is no dress code but please dress for the weather. You should bring sunscreen (no spray sunscreen) and wear shoes that you don’t mind getting wet in the event that you are splashed. Grass skirts, coconut bras and fun hats are strongly encouraged.

Can I play my own music?

Yes! We have a bluetooth speaker system onboard. Get connected, dance, do some karaoke, sing… its your tour.  Our captains can also DJ quite a party incase you need some musical help.

Who drives the boat?

We provide a US Coast Guard licensed captain for every trip to ensure your safety and that everyone has a great time.

What happens if it rains?

Pau Hana operates rain or shine! Our large thatched roof will do its best to keep you dry. If it is going to rain please dress accordingly. The captain reserves the right to suspend or cancel a tour at any time due to weather (we typically will cancel for high winds and thunderstorms). Passenger safety is our top priority. If your tour is cancelled due to weather we will issue a full refund.

Do you provide rain gear or ponchos

We do not provide rain gear or ponchos but who doesn’t like to dance in the rain??? If the forecast looks questionable for your cruise, we suggest you bring a raincoat.

Can I smoke on board?

Smoking and vaping are not permitted at all.

Can I bring edibles / THC / a pen or other types of drugs on the trip?

We do not allow any types of THC or any other types of legal or illegal drugs onboard. Regardless of whether it is legal in NJ or your home state even if you have a prescription, it is still illegal to bring onboard a vessel. Our captains have a strict no tolerance policy for any drugs brought aboard as it could cause them to loose their license. Your trip will be terminated immediately and your group will be dropped at the nearest point of land if your group has brought any drugs aboard. Please don’t be “that guy(or girl)”

Can I fish on the trip?

No, we do not allow fishing off of our boats. If you want to go fishing, there are lots of charter boats available to take you fishing in Ocean City and Somers Point. The Duke O’ Fluke is located right at our dock and always catches fish!. Besides, we are not very good at fishing anyway… we are much better at having a party.

Should we tip the captain?

Yes. Our captains work very hard to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable time. Our crew has spent years traveling the world exploring the best beach and tiki bars on the planet.    We suggest a 20% tip paid directly to your captain so that they can keep up their training at being the best Tiki host on the planet.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy: While we don’t see why you would want to do anything else besides partying with us, you can cancel based on the time lines below:

  • More than 14 days out from your tour date – We will refund you completely or give you a gift certificate to reschedule your trip.
  • Between 7 and 14 days out, we will offer you a gift card for another tour minus a $100.00 cancellation fee.
  • Between 2 and 7 days out – We will offer you a gift card for your tour price minus a $200.00 cancellation fee.
  • Between 0 and two days out – you will be charged the entire value of the trip.
    If you don’t show up for your scheduled trip, there will be no refund or reschedule.
  • If WE cancel for any reason, including weather, we will offer you a choice of a full refund, a reschedule to another available date at your current tour price or a full value on a gift card for a future trip.

Is there a bathroom onboard?

There is not a bathroom on the boats. We recommend using the facilities on land before you board the boat right at our dock.
